What’s in this build
- ✓ Infra: Group ride and region request API migrated to ride.navforge.app — properly branded endpoint, same functionality
- ✓ Fixed: Search now ranks local results first — searching “Liverpool” in NSW now returns Liverpool NSW, not Liverpool England; search is biased to your GPS location
- ✓ Fixed: GPS position now used immediately as route start — previously if GPS hadn’t fixed yet on app launch the auto-origin was skipped; now seeds from Android’s cached last-known position instantly
- ✓ Fixed: Search now tries your downloaded map data even when the online search returns no results; empty state tells you to download a map region if nothing is found offline
- ✓ New: Round Trip now has Export GPX and Save to Calendar buttons — same as A→B route planning; generate a loop, save it to any date or share it as GPX
- ✓ Fixed: Ride Calendar now shows the full year ahead — planned trips saved to future dates were invisible because the calendar was limited to 1 day in the future; now shows 12 months forward
- ✓ Fixed: Explore Roads — tapping orange road lines now works on mobile; previously only worked on desktop mouse (thin 3px lines had no touch target); wider invisible hit layer added
- ✓ New: Planned trips in Ride Calendar — plan a route, save it to any future date; appears as a blue dot in the calendar; tap to navigate to the destination or delete; separate from actual recorded rides
- ✓ Fixed: Export GPX no longer saves to My Rides as a side effect — export now shares to email/WhatsApp/Files only; use “Save to Calendar” to explicitly keep a route
- ✓ New: “Save to Calendar” button in route planning — after previewing any route, save it to a chosen date; green dots = rides you rode, blue dots = trips you planned
- ✓ New: “Navigate here” button on POI detail sheet — tap any fuel station, campsite, attraction, or hotel pin on the map to navigate directly to it; auto-sets GPS position as start
- ✓ Fixed: Day mode toggle now works correctly — switch ON = day mode active; subtitle confirms current state; no more confusing label swap
- ✓ Fixed: Orientation lock now shows Portrait/Landscape chips after locking so you can switch without unlocking; chips update immediately
- ✓ New: navigation voice selection in Ride Settings — choose from all TTS voices on your device (all languages), with friendly display names and a search bar; selection persists across restarts
- ✓ New: live hard braking indicator — while recording, a banner shows each detected braking event with peak deceleration (g) and duration (ms) for 2.5 seconds
- ✓ Fixed: setting a destination now zooms the map to show both your position and the destination so you can immediately see the route context
- ✓ Fixed: long-pressing the map no longer snaps the camera back to your GPS position — the view stays exactly where you placed it
- ✓ Fixed: dismissing any sheet with a previewed route now always shows a “Route ready — Start navigation” bar on the map so you can start without reopening the sheet
- ✓ Fixed: Round Trip now collapses to a compact card after generating — route is visible on the map behind the sheet; tap Regenerate to return to controls
- ✓ Fixed: Round Trip distance now accurately matches the slider — previous geometry placed waypoints in a line (not a loop), causing an “80km” trip to route 150-180km; now uses triangular waypoint placement calibrated to the target
- ✓ Fixed: planning sheet drag handle and close button no longer appear in the same visual row
- ✓ Fixed: “Set as Start” now works correctly from search results and long-press — tapping it inserts the location as the route start without affecting the destination
- ✓ Fixed: all 7 routing sliders now fully connected to the routing engine — Hills & elevation and Road surface were wired correctly in our Valhalla fork but disconnected by a bad code change; now restored
- ✓ New: route planning now shows distance and estimated travel time after every Preview Route — numbers update instantly when switching between Road and Adventure modes
- ✓ Fixed: routing presets correctly differentiated — Road uses minimal curvature (0.1), Adventure uses maximum curvature (1.0); all 7 costing params flow through to Valhalla
- ✓ Fixed: “Navigate here” from a saved marker now auto-sets your GPS position as the start — Preview Route is immediately available without manually setting an origin
- ✓ Fixed: deleting a marker from My Markers list now removes the pin from the map immediately
- ✓ Fixed: marker pins now appear on map immediately after saving
- ✓ Marker system — markers persist across restarts; tap a pin to navigate, edit, or delete; menu → My Markers for full list; swipe to delete
- ✓ Fixed: long-press and route destination labels now show correct suburb/town
- ✓ Fixed: altitude gauge now shows accurate reading
- ✓ Fixed: destination search now finds places reliably
- ✓ Fixed: speed and altitude gauges now self-recover after granting GPS permission
- ✓ Fixed: release verification script works correctly after phone reboots
